An Interesting Article About Metabolism

I lost it, but I found it again. And I could be talking about fat, but not at the moment… and some of you are rolling your eyes at me, “You don’t have to worry.” (Age is not a discriminator… it will catch up).

A few months ago I got a link to an article that I read that explained metabolism in a fairly easy way. In college we learned all about the Krebs and other body processes, but it’s very hard communicate that and at that level with most people who would care.

This article struck me as a great read that simplifies and even personifies fat and how it loves to stay around and invite others to join in. However, I lost it and could not for the life of me, find the link I had. So here it is… hopefully where I can find it and point others to read.

Crash that party and kick that lazy fat outta your house!

Nano Watch… NICE!

2nd Gen iPod Nano I have a 2nd Gen green Nano iPod that I run with using Nike+ to track my mileage. It has done real well. Though I have a 3Gs iPhone and the capability to run with that, who wants to run with a huge brick strapped to their arm? So I have stuck with the 2nd Gen Nano.

I looked up the new Nano and was “wowed” for a moment. It sports a nice touch screen and very small form factor. Which brings up an Apple Corp aggravation… this inability to stick to the same size annoys the snot out of owners with Nano arm bands… if you want to upgrade you have to buy a new armband!iPod_6thGen

Anyway, I didn’t find the newness a reason to run out and upgrade. It’s cool and all but not a must-have.

Until now…

Good advice – start out the race conservative… dummy!

I have realized this (over and over) but never moved my butt to change my approach to running races. I noticed people passing and during the heavily crowded P’tree Road Race, I found myself edging to the right the farther I ran (by the way… for those who are confused by this, you may be the ones running slower on the left having everyone pass/trip over you… just some unwritten running courtesy).

Read up and APPLY this next time.

Home at last… but wanna go back

Arrived back home yesterday around 2:30 pm EDT… early, but what can you say about Delta. They have their act together it seems (I’m sure others would beg to differ).

I am thinking about posting a full recap of the trip with Google Map routing for extra fun… but first must go home.

Loved the trip. Hated coming home. Especially to an Inbox full of stuff. So you end up needing to take a vacation from the time back from your vacation.

More to come…
