So very tired trying to get over to Santa Cruz RV Park that posting was the last thing on my mind. Let’s look back…
We had to skip a San Francisco mini-tour due to time so after a Walmart Trip and REI, we got stuck in a circle trying to find a gas station that had enough ROOM for my 5000 lb butt (too many carbs). Once we got on the road, tempers flared with a visit from Mike Mike over clear communication (speaking clear English) and directions… we finally reached our campsite destination.
Note to self, use the built-in furnace to warm RV while sleeping. If I wasn’t so tired I woulda got up and put all layers on! Becca was snug in her 15 deg bag. “Summer” bags don’t lie.
But it was well worth the learning experience. We woke to huge trees and a river next to us. Something out of the forest moon of Endor. (Ask the geek next to you)
Now off to the Hwy 1 roller coaster of views and Heart Castle.
So Thursday night was tiring and Friday was a dance with Highway 1. Imagine an overly-obese gentleman with two left feet being paired with a sleek, curvaceous dancing teacher… but having the pair and ability to whip that big butt into Fred Friggin’ Astair. I was that fat guy wearing a 5000 pound RV suit. (Speaking of 5000 pounds, we saw some elephant seals on the way)
But more on that and Thursday later.
We are now in Santa Paula at a little RV park cleaning up and about to head out for Ruben’s wedding at 10am in Panorama City (LA). There is some things definitely to be caught up, but first, let’s get this guy hitched and we’ll catch up afterwards. Capice?
In the meantime, check out the Gallery page above. Hopefully it is working and some of the pics we uploaded yesterday morning are there…
Also we woke up to this in the morning. Cool things you don’t see arriving at 1am!
Hopping is not recommended on ice or in snow, but if required should be done with care.
One of the ladies referred to in the previous post asked what that white stuff was on the ground as we flew over. Thank goodness she asked before Becca had the chance. 🙂 The response was “white sands from the Jamaican Islands”.
To add to that, we ended the flight to a live parody called “These Are a Few of Our Least Favorite Things”. Southwest did a great job. It’s a good first experience.
Onward to SFO.
