Salt Lake City – part 3 BEGIN

Let it BEGIN!
5:00 pm MST
Onward to Grand Junction, CO

Salt Lake City – 2.75

So at the moment I am sitting in the truck (yet to be revealed) waiting for “Ruben” to get back from dropping his rental car off. The scenery is spectacular from where I sit… facing a parked Honey Pot or Honey Truck as some may call it. Hurry back Ruben.

Oh! and I got a picture of the Mormon Tabernacle for my Baptist-Mormon girlfriend. Enjoy!

Salt Lake City – 2.5

Upon decent it was an awesome view of the surrounding, snow-covered mountains. Beautiful. However, the closer to airport we got, the foggier… or smoggier it got. Interesting. So hopefully it’s not a daily thing and just a “foggy” day.

While flying this leg of the trip I sat next to a fairly quiet young lady that slept or read most of the way. When we got closer to SLC she pulled out her boarding pass when I noticed her passport that stated she was from the UK. It started a brief conversation due to my Brit tennis partner (we’ll call him “Liam”).

She told me what she was traveling for and so far it’s the coolest “single serving friend” I have had on a flight. (watch Fight Club for reference). She was here going to Park City for the Junior World Championships and her event is “Skeleton”. How cool is that? Rather COLD going approximately 80mph! So young and already has a set the size of King Kong to take on that sport!

Ruben’s gonna pick up his rental car and after we pick up the truck. and drop off the car… the road we shall hit!

BTW the Sundance Film Festival is also here in Park City in February. That would be cool to attend one year.

There are mountains there behind the clouds… honest!

UPDATE: I did a search and found the young lady (22 at this date… much younger than me)… Laura Deas. See her video below.

Salt Lake City – part 2

Made it to Phoenix and hopping on the next flight. As hot as it is here normally, it is really nice outside right now. off to the great salty lake.

Salt Lake City – part 1.5

Didn’t think I would be adding another post this soon but thought it would be cool to try the Gogo Internet service US Air provides. It’s $7.95 per flight and a long one is the best time to try it out.

So far so good. I am writing this at about 32,000 feet and somewhere over Alabama. See picture.

Also, on a side note. Due to the cold air this morning the plane had frost on the wings. The captain came on to say that we will be backing out to have the frost removed from the wings. The first image I had was some dude with ear muffs crouched on the wing with an ice scraper. I do that every morning. Didn’t get a photo of that though. Sorry.
