Salt Lake City – part 2

Made it to Phoenix and hopping on the next flight. As hot as it is here normally, it is really nice outside right now. off to the great salty lake.

Salt Lake City – part 1.5

Didn’t think I would be adding another post this soon but thought it would be cool to try the Gogo Internet service US Air provides. It’s $7.95 per flight and a long one is the best time to try it out.

So far so good. I am writing this at about 32,000 feet and somewhere over Alabama. See picture.

Also, on a side note. Due to the cold air this morning the plane had frost on the wings. The captain came on to say that we will be backing out to have the frost removed from the wings. The first image I had was some dude with ear muffs crouched on the wing with an ice scraper. I do that every morning. Didn’t get a photo of that though. Sorry.

Salt Lake City – part 1

To make a long story short (then spread it out over a few blog parts) I am helping a friend bring a just-purchased truck back from Salt Lake City to Atlanta. Let’s call this friend “Ruben”.

I will be riding wingman. Shotgun would mean I was just riding. Not so. I am driving in shifts with Ruben in hopes to get the truck back by Saturday evening.

It’s approximately 1900 miles and at this point, depending on weather, we are not sure exactly which route we will take, though through Grand Junction to Amarillo and I-40 will most likely be the smartest more scenic route.

At the moment I am sitting on Flight 195 waiting to depart to Phoenix for a layover. Hopefully sleep will be my initial task.

Let the adventure begin!

Nano Watch… NICE!

2nd Gen iPod Nano I have a 2nd Gen green Nano iPod that I run with using Nike+ to track my mileage. It has done real well. Though I have a 3Gs iPhone and the capability to run with that, who wants to run with a huge brick strapped to their arm? So I have stuck with the 2nd Gen Nano.

I looked up the new Nano and was “wowed” for a moment. It sports a nice touch screen and very small form factor. Which brings up an Apple Corp aggravation… this inability to stick to the same size annoys the snot out of owners with Nano arm bands… if you want to upgrade you have to buy a new armband!iPod_6thGen

Anyway, I didn’t find the newness a reason to run out and upgrade. It’s cool and all but not a must-have.

Until now…

4 Corners… of a monument plaque in the middle of Arizona

Four Corner Action

Though old news by now, our trip to the Four Corners was off by 2.5 miles.

According to the article below, the monument is placed in the wrong spot. Oooops!

Interesting enough. And funny that all those people before and after us taking their pictures on all fours were actually doing so for naught. You might as well do the same thing in your living room. The significance is about the same (well, not as much because most of us don’t live in either of those 4 states).
